Description:Originally a sedimentary rock formed from carbonate deposited on a shallow, tropical sea-floor, this rock has been altered by magnesium-rich fluids within the Earth's crust, forming the grey mineral dolomite (calcium-magnesium carbonate) and the white mineral magnesite (magnesium carbonate).
Representing:Sediment deposited in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin during the Cambrian Period, about 500 million years ago, and
